PREVENT DISPERSION OF DUST! AVOID ALL CONTACT! AVOID EXPOSURE OF ADOLESCENTS AND CHILDREN!

  • INHALATION

    		• Breathing protection.
    		Fresh air, rest. Refer for medical attention.
  • SKIN
    		• MAY BE ABSORBED!
    		Protective gloves. Protective clothing.
    		Remove contaminated clothes. Rinse and then wash skin with water and soap. Refer for medical attention.
  • EYES

    		• Safety goggles, or eye protection in combination with breathing protection.
    		First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then take to a doctor.
  • INGESTION

    		• Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work. Wash hands before eating.
    		Rinse mouth. Give a slurry of activated charcoal in water to drink. Rest. Refer for medical attention.
    SPILLAGE DISPOSAL STORAGE PACKAGING & LABELLING
    Do NOT wash away into sewer. Sweep spilled substance into sealable containers; if appropriate, moisten first to prevent dusting. Carefully collect remainder, then remove to safe place. (extra personal protection: chemical protection suit including self-contained breathing apparatus).
    		Provision to contain effluent from fire extinguishing. Separated from strong oxidants, metals, food and feedstuffs. Well closed. Keep in a well-ventilated room.
    		Do not transport with food and feedstuffs.

    PHYSICAL STATE; APPEARANCE:
     WHITE CRYSTALS , WITH CHARACTERISTIC ODOUR.

     The substance decomposes on heating above 160░C producing toxic fumes including hydrogen chloride and other chlorine fumes. Reacts with strong oxidants. Attacks metal.

    OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE LIMITS (OELs):
     TLV: 0.05 mg/m3 (as TWA), A3 (skin) (ACGIH 1997).


    		ROUTES OF EXPOSURE:
     The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation of dusts from powder concentrates, through the skin and by ingestion.

    INHALATION RISK:
     Evaporation at 20░C is negligible; a harmful concentration of airborne particles can, however, be reached quickly when dispersed, especially if powdered.

     This substance is possibly carcinogenic to humans.

         		The substance is very toxic to aquatic organisms. In the food chain important to humans, bioaccumulation takes place, specifically in fish, birds and milk. The substance may cause long-term effects in the aquatic environment.
